Fannie Collingwood: The ECU is a biggie.. They are pretty much dying all around the world right now.. Its just their time.
May Stands: I agree with most thing bimmerdude said, however, I don't think it'll cost that much to upkeep it. There are a plethora of parts and knowledge available for these cars everywhere you look. The number one thing to look for when buying one is how well it was maintained. I purchased my 1984 325e four months ago from the original owner and (so far) have done nothing but oil changes to it. You may have to pay a little extra to buy one like that but it is worth it. Otherwise you'll be spending the money you saved to fix a cheaper one, except YOU are the one who has to find a good mechanic or spend time fixing little nicks yourself. Just my two cents....Show more

Nannie Kasee: There may be some rust problems, fuel pump may be going, timing belt needs replace if it hasnt got one y! et, and all the regular maintenance. There are couple more that i cant think of on top of my head. But im sure there is couple more.Replace all fluids and the car possibly need new brakes. But thats the same for all used cars. And all that regular maintenance stuff needs to be done again.I know it sounds like a lot of work, but in my opinion, the car is worth all the trouble. It may run you $1000 to 5 or 6 thousand dollars depending on where you live and how much you know about cars. It may run even higher than that.its not cheap, but chances are, you dont need to dash out all that money at once, just replace them as they die. But do the regular maintenance things though.good luck with your purchase!...Show more
