Connie Dickirson: Veganism is a philosophy that is based on the basic belief that animals are not property and should not be used for any reason that is not for their own benefit. We refuse to eat meat, fish, dairy, eggs, honey, all other byproducts, etc, etc OR buy things with fur, leather, wool, feather. These are just a few examples. Some vegan people eat a raw food diet, which can be a very very good thing. "RAW VEGAN" is just a label a few people openly put on themselves that gets people's attention and makes veganism sound even more extreme to the general population than it already does.
