Jacques Vaquera: My friend is NOT some loser who writes rap. Rap is ! just as good as any other type of art! My friend's work has such raw, strong feeling and emotion! I don't yet know if we could work together or even share advice but what I do know is that they are both different works of art express different feelings and emotions.
Dominic Sciancalepore: lol @ people typing these long *** lists not realizing this guy knows about as much as Mechanical.I don't know if there's many artists I know of that you haven't heard yet. But these are some of the more obscure ones I listen to:JermisideRPM (Restoring Poetry in Music)Shape of Broad MindsMega RanAzeemY SocietyTunji (Inverse)PismoNoah KingFactorHomeboy Sandman is also a new rapper whose name I've seen tossed around a lot recently. Haven't checked him out yet though....Show more
Karey Dunken: there is really no difference between poetry and any kind of music besides the beat and rap is sung most of the time. they can both be about anything and they are both read in a rhythm.
Javier Holsonback: rap has a beat in the background and is! sometimes full of more crude words, but other than that, they are pretty much the same. Full of emotion. Rhyming. And telling a story.
Irma Poiter: rap is basically just poetry with a beat to it
Toney Flaten: no difference.both are feelings on paper with a rythmic vibe.
Chet Nozick: Lil Wayne
Wilbert Shellgren: Day LaborersMain Offenders
Jonie Lauria: Thanks everyone a few newies for me to look up. I've been a bit out the loop this year but looking to catch up. Cheers!!!
Neely Youngblut: What do you mean by "accent"? Rap originated from so many different music genres and lifestyles that is impossible to accurately list them all. It's kind of like asking were did Rock come from, or Jazz, or Classical.....I think you understand where I'm going. SIDEBAR: I think Rap INCORPORATES poetry, but i don't think Rap IS poetry.
Nestor Klan: yeah there is a big diffrence. No beat, much diffren rhyming patterns(it doesnt need to rhyme where rap! does). Poetry is much more complexed. But rappers like Canibus are on the same level as poets. Poems are extremely deep, and so is rap.Just Remeber Rap is "Poetry of the streets"
Zora Mazzie: lupe fiasco z-ro
Jed Mutone: Poetry usually takes talent.
Leann Villalta: There is a song I have heard in other movies and shows. When stan gets francine out of the house to take steve to school so he can masterbait. Its all in slow-mo. And its a chior singing
Ronny Dorge: the art of rapping and the art of poetry are the same but different styles you have poetry styles like haiku i think it is spelled right and you have rap which is poetry in motion you definitely can work together that depends on creativity and being open minded to the different artistic styles some poetry don't rhyme at all so it can be a beautiful thing i say do it!

Jacinta Moitoso: Poetry is rather delightful and rap is a way to express anger and emotions. Poetry is written in rhymes while some rap songs don't have any rhyming in it at all. Usually those songs suck, but it's done by people on the radio today with no talent. Rap songs also have a beat to it, which poetry doesn't.
Terresa Tsasie: Yeah B.k.S. I saw his name on some guys list might try and check him out as well.
Ty Kirton: i need money to upgrade my studio so i need a new daw a synthesizer some studio monitors an interface and new midi controllers too. thats alot of stuff and i have a edm band i need money for. what can i do for more sales.
Carli Watterson: Technically, they're similar. Rapping seems like just rhymically reading poetry with a background beat. You could share advice.
