Loise Mausser: If you already have a bachelor's degree, you would be looking into getting a master's degree in Landscape Architecture. Assume 2+ years of study. A list of accredited schools can be found here: http://www.asla.org/Schools.aspx#352
Torrie Weissenbach: Catfromh answer is good start. You'll also need engineering classes, irrigation, etc. Do talk to the schools to see where their interests are......locally the LA program is deeper into urban planning than horticulture. I was amazed how many students came out not really knowing plants and plant systems (soils, plants, and their problems) but far surpassed me in urban planning concepts......big scale stuff. So know what your interests are....Show more
Jon Bergmeier: you might want to take some courses in botany, horticulture, design and art/architecture. You need to know which plants/trees grow where, when they bloom (if they bloom) soil requirements, companion plantings, etc.
