How should I go about getting a citizenship and education in Britain?

Ilana Gaster: You should complete your education in Canada as you would have to pay for tuition at international student rates in the UK.After you get your teaching qualifications you could then apply for an Ancestry visa on the basis of the fact that you have UK born grandfather and are a Commonwealth citizen. An Ancestry visa allows you to live and work in the UK for 5 years and then apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. After 1 year with ILR, you can apply for citizenship. Note that you don't actually need any work qualifications as none are required for an Ancestry visa but they will make it much easier to find and remain in work as required for the visa.http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigratio... Ancestry visaEDIT:I know of several Australian teachers who are currently teaching in UK schools without having needed any further studies. I can't believe that the situation with teachers from Canada would be any different....Show more

Herma Ellebrecht: ther! e are plenty of unemployed teachers in the UK .. you may struggle to find a job

Barrett Alosa: And to add to what some people said, you wouldn't be able to teach in UK if you studied somewhere else. The system is completely different. You would need to study here for 2 years.
