how to buy a motorcycle/requirements...?

Leticia Laiben: To convince your parents you should sit down and talk to them in a serious manner and tell them a list of all the reasons why you want to purchase a motorcycle...Gas Prices, enjoyable on a hot summer day things along that line. When buying a motorcycle I do know that the person buying the bike needs a valid motorcycle licens. Im not sure about insurance...(sorry)....But mostly the way I convinced my parents that i was responsible to ride a motorcycle was to prove to them that I could ride in a safe way. Bring your parents to one of the motorcycle classes and have them talk to your teacher about the bennefits of a motorcycle....Show more

Rebbecca Sorkin: ok well to start go with the 500...its cheaper right now and it would be good to show your parents that bikes aint that bad. as to the permit and lisence stuff, no a permit is not the same as a lisence but since you are taking the MSF course when you get done with the course take the certificate to! the DMV and you will have your motorcycle endorsment on drivers lisence. now i dont know how to convince your parents on the idea of a motorcycle you might just have to tough it out until you are 18. before you buy your bike start researching your insurance now...get qoutes from every place you can to compare. i was 19 when i got my bike and it took some time before i got a decent qoute, some places wont insure you and some is extremely high...because of your age and your experience, the MSF course will help with deductions b/c its a saftey course. i would buy a used bike b/c once you get comfortable and used to riding your gunna want to go bigger (i.e. 600,750) trust me.... i started at 600 and wouldnt never go anything less, but i was older and had more money and room for error. and having a used bike to learn on is good b/c careful or not you will not nessarily wreck but prob drop it or lay it down...no big deal, happens to everyone. you may not but its makes you feel b! etter if its a used bike and not something bran new that you j! ust drove of the lot. i hope that helps. stay safe dont be stupid, have fun riding, its one of the best times youll every have....Show more

Tijuana Tatsak: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/av7nMMy advice: Don't. The Bay Area freeways are no place for a beginner, and winter is no time to start learning. If you must...get a helmet. Get a standard bike--used--and go to your local DMV for motorcycle requirements.

Rubye Bonnin: You don't need a motorcycle license to purchase a motorcycle, but you obviously would need one to ride it home, unless someone else with a MC license rode it home for you or it was transported to your home. You will need to purchase, at the least. a basic liabilty insurance for the motocycle at the time of purchase to finance the motorcycle, and of course if you plan to ride it off the dealer lot. Car insurance and motorcycle insurances are separate. You are most likely not insured under your car insurance to ride! a motorcycle. You don't need to buy a bike now to learn on to take the MSF class. The MSF class is fairly easy and provide the motorycles for you . Once you pass the MSF class, your parents may be much more comfortable with you buying a bike and may appreciate yopur decision to buy an inexpesive bike like a Ninja 250 instead of going for a more expensive and more powerful bike.Plus it's better to take a MSF class first because you may get a discount on your motorcycle insurance for taking the class....Show more

Idell Mulliniks: Once you are 18, if you have your permit, you should have no problems, you might still need your parents signature if you plan on getting an insurance rate anywhere near resonable
